To those of you in Canada, Happy Canada Day! To those of you who aren’t in Canada, Happy Canada Day also!

Happy Canada Day!

On that note, welcome back to Paul Federici who just returned from his Western Canada tour. Paul finished off a crazy month of cross-Canada touring with a double header last weekend, performing at the SCENE Festival (St. Catharines, Ontario) followed a few hours later with a gig at the Jordan House (Jordan, Ontario). We hope Paul gets to relax a bit this month—he deserves it!

No rest for Of Gentlemen and Cowards, who’ll be playing festivals across southern Ontario in July. You can catch them live at the Burlington Canada Day Fest (July 1), Kitchener’s Big Music Festival (July 11), or Toronto’s BIG on Bloor Festival (July 19).

Speaking of festivals, ttwwrrss recently performed at Hamilton’s New Music Expo 2014 – It’s Your Festival! You can also catch him on Friday, July 11 performing on the rooftop of Dr. Disc (20 Wilson Street, Hamilton) as part of Hamilton Magazine and I Heart Hamilton’s “Raise the Roof” Concert Series. More super secret shows are in the works—details to come!

Our resident globetrotter OLD KID (Darryl Webster) is back in Canada this week, just in time to kick off his weekly Tuesday night residency at Voodoo Child (388 College Street, Toronto). He’s also putting the finishing touch on his book, Pride in Travel.

And speaking of writing, two of Mike Vial‘s poems will be featured in the upcoming anthology, Wet Electric Blanket, published by Michigan based NIC Publishing in 2014. We always love Mike’s thoughtful and engaging blog posts—especially his recent posts about staying engaged with new music.

Some new music of our own, “Janguru City” by moon:and:6 feat. ttwwrrss made the I Heart Hamilton playlist in June:

“I’m always blown away by people’s ability to craft and manipulate electronic beats. This is track is awesome.” –Kristin Archer, I Heart Hamilton

Of Gentlemen and Cowards also got the moon:and:6 treatment last month with a downtempo electronic redux of OGC’s “Song For You.”

moon:and:6 has been super busy in the studio, with engineering credits on Royal Wood‘s latest release, I Wish You Well (MapleMusic), as well as on the latest Sarah McLachlan album, Shine On (Verve Records). Shine On debuted at #4 on the US Billboard charts, and was certified Gold in Canada last month. Congrats to everyone involved!

The next release on Maisonneuve Music will be a moon:and:6/Paul Federici collaboration. Tuesday, July 15 is the official release date—mark your calendars!

We’ll close out this month’s newsletter with “Song For You (Departures Redux)” by moon:and:6 feat. Of Gentlemen and Cowards. Perfect for your chillout summer playlists. Bring on the summer!
