“daydream” by Hamilton, Canada-based producer and multi-instrumentalist [zoethecat] is a laid-back, chillhop-inspired lofi track based around a simple guitar loop and flowing lead guitar. This distinctively melodic track is both meditative and playful at the same time. It’s a perfect soundtrack for chilling, studying, or just relaxing.

I really wanted to create a more melodically-driven lofi track than I had in the past. It still had to feel lazy, but not loopy. I had been listening to some American art-rock from the late 1960s. I wondered what it might sound like to build a lofi track with guitars and a drum machine, rather than just loops and samples. For me “daydream” has a real “lost-in-thought” vibe to it. You know that feeling of being too tired to pay attention in class, but your mind is still racing with seemingly random thoughts? That’s what this track is about. –Michael aka [zoethecat]
