“moonlight” by Hamilton, Canada-based producer and multi-instrumentalist [zoethecat] is a laid-back, chillhop-inspired track using the opening melody of Debussy’s Clair de Lune, and bringing it into the lofi world. Evoking feelings of nostalgia and relaxation, it’s a perfect backdrop for chilling, studying, or just relaxing.

I’ve always has a soft spot for romantic era classical music, and Debussy’s Clair de Lune has long been one of my favourites. While I was having fun looping the first 4 bars of the opening melody, I realized it might make an excellent intro for a lofi track… and the rest of the song just flowed from there. “moonlight” is my homage to that classic piece of music.
