“seaside reverie” by Hamilton, Canada-based producer and multi-instrumentalist [zoethecat] is a chill, laid-back track inspired by downtempo tracks of the early 2000s. The downtempo elements add a sense of weightlessness, making it easy to get lost in the music and let your thoughts drift away. “seaside reverie” is both nostalgic and contemporary, a perfect example of how lo-fi can still be innovative and captivating. The perfect track to create a chill, relaxing and reflective environment.

When I stared working on “seaside reverie” I was getting into downtempo tracks from the early 2000s. Stuff like Zero 7, Blue States and Nightmares On Wax. I love the sounds of syncopated bass lines and lush chords on a Fender Rhodes piano, and I think that really shows on this track. “seaside reverie” isn’t just a throwback, it’s still something new… at least to me.
