“First Snow” by Hamilton, Canada-based composer and multi-instrumentalist SØLYS (Michael Chambers) is an atmospheric, minimalist piano piece. Inspired by the works of Erik Satie and Brian Eno, “First Snow” features a soft, lilting piano supported by a rich atmosphere of ambient synth pads and reverb. The perfect backdrop for sleep, meditation or deep concentration.
There’s a feeling I get every year when I see the first snowfall. Growing up on the eastern shores of the Great Lakes, the first snow would typically arrive in late October. The fresh white snow and frost was a refreshing change from the orange and browns of autumn. And snow meant we would be tobogganing, skating or skiing soon. I hope this track bring back fond memories of early winter for you too. –Michael Chambers (aka SØLYS)
