The sound of rain dancing on wet pavement while dark clouds blanket the sky creates a lush backdrop for [zoethecat]’s track “clouds”. Muted and warbly instruments set against a vintage lo-fi beat create a sad melancholic feel. The rain was recorded in the industrial city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on a damp and grey spring day. The perfect soundtrack for rainy days, chilling, studying, or just relaxing.
Sometimes I find the sound of rain inspiring. Last spring I recorded the sound of the rain in my backyard. I had that recording for while, and when I was working on this track it made the perfect backdrop. Rain can be cold, wet, sad and miserable if you’re stuck outside without shelter. On the other hand, I also associate rain with the warmth and safety of being inside, and hearing the rain outside makes me feel safe and secure in my warm home. You can listen to “clouds” either way, as an overcast, melancholy tune or as a warm and grateful track. I hope you enjoy it either way. -Michael aka [zoethecat]
